Ann Hood. The author of fourteen novels, three memoirs, a short story collection, a ten book series for middle readers and one young adult novel, Ann is a renowned writer. Her bestselling novels include The Knitting Circle, The Obituary Writer, The Red Thread, Somewhere off the Coast of Maine, and An Italian Wife. Her memoir, Comfort: A Journey through Grief, in which she shares her personal story of losing her 5 year old daughter Grace in 2002, was a New York Times Editor's Choice and named one of the top 10 non-fiction books of 2008 by Entertainment Weekly. She lives in Providence, Rhode Island. She is a regular contributor to the New York Times’ Op-Ed page, Home Economics column. She is a faculty member in the MFA in Creative Writing program at The New School in New York City.
