    The membership period runs from January to December.

    Membership in the Literary Guild begins at $15 and includes the same benefits at every level. Higher support levels are entirely optional and reflect additional contributions to help sustain author talks, films, and library programs. We are grateful for every level of support.

    We do not issue membership cards but maintain a list for admission to Author Talks and Book Sales.

Volunteer

The Literary Guild Resale Bookstore relies on our members to volunteer to keep its doors open, and we'd love for you to join the team.

What's needed: We rely on about 32 volunteers each month, each covering a single shift, to keep the bookstore staffed on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Location: The Guild Bookstore, adjacent to St. Simons Public Library

Schedule: Year-round, Wednesdays and Saturdays, with two shift options:

  • 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM

  • 12:30 PM – 3:30 PM

Duties: Volunteers work in pairs to greet customers, handle sales, and tidy the inventory.

Commitment: Flexible — most volunteers work just one shift per month, and the schedule is provided a month in advance.
