Pressly's latest book, A Southern Underground Railroad, uncovers the daring escapes of enslaved individuals from coastal Georgia to Spanish Florida—long before the Underground Railroad was widely recognized.

Pressly highlights Titus of Ossabaw Island (1767–1797), an enslaved man who risked everything for freedom. Titus successfully escaped to Spanish Florida, where slavery was abolished under Spanish rule, but his journey did not end there. In a courageous act of defiance, he returned to the Georgia coast to help liberate others, playing a vital role in the region's history of Black resistance and self-emancipation.
