R. William Johnstone, former top aide to Senator Wyche Fowler, presents his new book Wyche Fowler: A Political Life in Georgia, Congress, and Abroad. Drawing on years as Fowler’s legislative director, Senate chief of staff, and campaign manager, Johnstone offers an insider’s view of Fowler’s pivotal role in shaping major legislation, influencing foreign policy, and serving as U.S. Ambassador to Saudi Arabia. The talk also highlights Fowler’s work in historic preservation, renewable energy, rural development, and his gift for coalition-building and storytelling.
