Meet the Author: Lyle Roebuck.

“Flannery O’Connor and the Southern Gothic Tradition” with Lyle Roebuck. Lyle will talk about the state of southern gothic literature in 2019: Who’s doing it? How does the South remain fertile literary ground? Lyle is a native of Saint Simons Island (Glynn Academy ’86). His fiction has appeared in The Arkansas Review, The Roanoke Review, Straylight Magazine, Redivider, A Torn Page: 2012 Summer Short Fiction Anthology, The Santa Ana River Review, The Timberline Review, The Arlington Literary Journal, HoosierLit, Phantom Drift, Wraparound South, and Split Lip Magazine. His first book, Phantom Sounds-Stories, from Big Table Publishing, was published in 2018. Lyle has an MA from the University of Illinois Urbana/Champaign and studied Classical Languages and Literature at the University of Chicago.
